THE DESIGN CHALLENGE
Balancing deep, highly saturated navy tones and structured architectural arches within an open-concept layout while incorporating a dedicated home office that remains visually integrated with the communal spaces.

THE BRIEF & COLLABORATION
When working with bold colour palettes like deep navy blue, the greatest design risk is making a home feel heavy or fragmented. For this private apartment, Vitas Design SG demonstrated that strong colours and extensive carpentry can enhance, rather than constrict, an interior. By repeating sculpted archways, sliding steel-framed window grids, and warm timber overhead details, the design team established an unbroken sense of continuity. The final result is a home that values architectural depth, providing a masterclass in zoning a multi-functional layout.

SEQUENTIAL SPATIAL WALKTHROUGH: A Guided Movement Across Fluid Volumes
1. THE ENTRYWAY & SCULPTED FOYER
The introduction to the home establishes the project's signature architectural element: the perfect curve.
• The Arched Threshold: A deep navy blue archway frames the TV lounge view, while an adjacent open display tower features matching curved alcoves and warm, illuminated floating shelves to showcase personal items.
• The Linear Sightlines: Looking inward from the entrance reveals a clear, breezy corridor path. The navy colour blocking wraps the lower half of the walls, flowing smoothly past the casual breakfast island toward the dining zone.

2. THE LIVING LOUNGE & INTEGRATED HOME OFFICE
The main social hub pairs raw ceiling architecture with sophisticated workspace planning.
• The Beamed Lounge: The living area features a curved cream sectional sofa set beneath an exposed timber ceiling beam structure. A continuous concrete-texture media wall anchors the entertainment zone, keeping the floor space clear.
• The Glass-Enclosed Study: Positioned directly behind the living sofa is a highly efficient home office. Enclosed by a half-height stone partition wall and a matte black steel-framed window grid, this room allows the owners to work productively while staying completely connected to the family spaces.

3. THE HOSPITALITY ISLAND & CULINARY GALLEY
The kitchen setup is engineered like a boutique cafe, utilising deep tones to create an upscale hosting zone.
• The Illumined Breakfast Bar: A deep navy blue peninsula island features a warm under-counter LED light strip that reflects beautifully off the polished floor, paired with timber-topped stools.
• The High-Capacity Storage Galley: The cooking zone utilises a parallel galley configuration wrapped in deep navy cabinetry and glass-front upper storage display units. A massive stainless steel refrigerator stands flanked by highly detailed patterned floor tiling, while a pristine white herringbone tile backsplash panels the cooking corner to keep the zone functional yet elegant.

4. THE PRIVATE QUARTERS & FEATURE SUITES
The private wings separate into highly individualised sanctuaries, carrying forward the design theme through clever custom carpentry.
• The Master Bedroom: The main resting suite utilises a soothing two-tone colour-blocked feature wall behind the bed frame. The dressing corridor features a full-height wardrobe system with integrated abstract linear geometric details cut into the handles and panels, alongside a warm wood vanity nook.
• The Multi-Functional Junior Chambers: The secondary rooms adapt cleanly to different age groups. One features a built-in study desk tucked next to vibrant vertical-striped window blinds, while another functions as a bright nursery anchoring a white crib next to a customised wardrobe tower.

5. THE BOUTIQUE HOTEL BATHROOM
The wet utility zone continues the upscale, hospitality-driven approach to materials, combining separate design influences into one highly functional layout.
• The Mediterranean-Spa Oasis: The primary bathroom features a bold, Mediterranean-inspired patterned tile feature wall that perfectly anchors a deep navy vanity cabinet and a modern square vessel sink.
• The Timber Feature Wall: Stepping further into the space upgrades daily self-care with an entire wall clad in warm, vertical timber herringbone slats that wrap directly around a deep freestanding soaking bathtub, creating a rich contrast against the graphic masonry tiles.

MATERIALS & ACCENTS SPOTLIGHT
The visual harmony of this apartment relies on a highly disciplined, premium palette of textures:
• Deep Saturated Navy Laminate: Applied across the foyer arches, kitchen cabinets, and bathroom vanities to anchor the home with upscale character.
• Exposed Timber Beams & Herringbone Slats: Used on the living room ceiling and bathroom feature walls to introduce organic rhythm and warmth.
• Geometric Window Grids & Patterned Tiles: Layered across the study partition, kitchen floor, and backsplash to bring precise graphic contrast to the smooth surfaces.

THE VITAS DIFFERENCE
This private apartment demonstrates that compact footprints can handle highly structured, colourful architecture when built-in elements are tailored to the floor plan. By replacing plain partitions with glass office grids, hidden storage walls, and custom bedroom platforms, Vitas Design SG delivered a premium home customised perfectly to the owners' daily lifestyle, timeline, and budget.
