Who needs walls when open-plan common areas give flexibility, more space and light. This open-concept home barely has any walls in the main living spaces; rooms transition seamlessly from one to the other.


The island counter here serves multiple purposes: it grounds the entire kitchen, links the room to the dining area, and turns the common areas into spaces where guests will naturally congregate.

When the kitchen, dining and living rooms share the same space, the host of the party no longer tucked away toiling over a hot stove, leaving guests to entertain themselves.
